ONONONON, 2015 – Laura Hunt & Nikki Walkerden

What we experience is a network of forces seen through a personal window. The idea of a never ending journey in ONONONON, in its stark expression borders on transhuman. Here the bodies are not whole, they are missing something, but unaffected by the absence imparted to them. They travel on in spite of vacuity, moving, searching and unravelling the environment. The figures affirm a future tense, melded with an idea of impossible technology. There is an importance on the virtual in the sense of destruction, bodies and time. The figures try to journey beyond uselessness, but the performance has no end.
ON ON ON ON is the first collaboration between the artists Laura Hunt and Nikki Walkerden.
Through performance, sound, object and moving image practices, the project evolved into a work about the cycle of going somewhere and then it passing but meanwhile everything must continue.
